“Remember Me, Remember Us” Walk – September 30th

On September 30th, 2021 – H7G is hosting a community walk to spread awareness of and reflect on the tragedies experienced by Indigenous peoples across Turtle Island as a result of the country’s former residential school system.

PLEASE BE ADVISED OUR ROUTE HAS CHANGED!

I

The Healing of The Seven Generations would like to extend a sincere thank-you to the community for their support in the walk, purchasing the shirts, and for all the donations and generous contributions from individuals and organizations alike.

We would also like to give a huge shout out to Eric with Thunderstorm Productions who generously donated his services to ensure our voices could be heard all throughout the park yesterday.

Waterloo Regional Police Service was instrumental in providing traffic control during our walk and providing the community with access to a safe and successful event. Additionally, we are grateful for the presence of any dignitaries that participated.

Lastly, we would like to thank the Indigenous community and H7G staff that worked hard to put this all together, and those that were present in performance and speeches: Cedar Hill Drum, our women hand-drums and singers, and speakers Kelly Curley, Myeengun Henry, and Aryawna Isaacs.

Miigwetch,

Nia:wen,

THANK-YOU!
